When Tom Hardy decided
to look for a job for writer opportunity, he was amazed at the range and
breadth of opportunities which were available to him. After a long
career in the police force, he was looking for a new challenge to see
him through his autumn years in an interesting and rewarding fashion.
"Writing has always
been a real interest of mine," he says. "From time to time, I have
submitted articles to magazines and other publications, in the hope of
getting into print. I wasn't looking to really make money at the time,
but I did enjoy the experience. So when I found myself with some extra
time on my hands, getting a job for writer opportunity seemed like the
right way to go."
Tom found his first
job for writer by contacting a magazine he had written for previously.
He sent them some examples of his work, and they were impressed. A
commission followed, and soon Tom was busy slaving over a word processor
knocking out some copy.
"It was great to send
in my first real freelance piece, and even better to see it in print a
couple of months later. What a feeling that was! I was delighted to be
earning some money from something which I found so interesting and so
rewarding. I hope to do a lot more work in this field, editing, writing,
proofreading – doing all those kinds of work."
Having started working
for trade magazines, Tom is now setting his sights on mainstream
publications which appear on the newsstands. He hopes to open up new
markets and expand his markets considerably. His favorite place to find
