The nature of home
based jobs has undergone something of a transformation in recent years.
It is now much easier to find a career or business that you can run from
your own house or flat, and still earn a very good living. In fact, many
highly successful ventures have been started from the kitchen table.
Just think about Bill Gates, who started Microsoft from his spare room,
or Michael who became a billionaire from his student dormitory.
These may be
exceptional cases, but they are by no means rare. There must be
thousands of cases, if not hundreds of thousands, where people have
started up very successful home based jobs on their own initiative. All
you need is a little foresight, and some determination to succeed.
Of course, many
businesses require a lot of capital to set up, even if you don't need
expensive offices in the early days. Equipment can be very expensive,
and you may need to hire staff, which may be difficult if you don't have
the funds available, or don't want to risk everything until you know
exactly what you are getting into. In this case, you need to think
carefully about a home based job which is suitable.
For many people
freelancing is a great way of building a home based jobs option. It
means that you can start up a business without a great cash capital
outlay. All you need is some funds to start a marketing campaign, which
could be by direct mail, or it could be done over the telephone. If you
already have some contacts who may want to use your services, this can
be a very easy thing to do.
Many home based jobs
can be very rewarding, and offer you the chance to be flexible in your
approach. If you have children to look after, you can usually arrange to
drop them off at school before starting work, then have your day's work
done before it is time to pick them up.
